#handmeDOWNUPCYCLE

by Laura Heintzelman

I have always loved boots with “kilties” ( kilties are added pieces of leather that lace onto the boot).  When I saw these boots at Village Thrift, I knew they would look so cool with a Kiltie.

I went to two different thrift stores & found a leather belt with holes already in the leather. I cut two pieces, with holes so I could run laces through them. Then I took scissors and cut the ends into fringe. I added a little leather dye to the toe of the boot for an easy update.

Remember, most shoes can be UPCYCLED with dye,  fabric markers, funky laces or kilties like I did here!
